OCD
Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition that affects about 1 in 100 people.
Obsessions are unwanted, intrusive thoughts, images, or urges that create intensely distressing feelings.
Compulsions are behaviors an individual engages in to attempt to get rid of the obsessions and/or decrease distress.
Many of us may experience obsessive thoughts and/or compulsive behaviors at some point in our lives, but that does not mean we all have “some OCD.”
OCD is diagnosed when when a person experiences a cycle of obsessions and compulsions that are so extreme that it consumes a lot of time and causes problems in their daily life.
