Dyspraxia

Dyspraxia can cause lifelong challenges with movement, balance and coordination.

About 5% of people are Dyspraxic.

Dyspraxia is not a formal diagnosis. The formal diagnosis is developmental coordination disorder (DCD).

People with dyspraxia may struggle with:

  • Fine motor skills: making small movements like writing and typing, chopping vegetables while cooking, or personal care like applying makeup

  • Gross motor skills: making large movements such as climbing stairs, dance choreography or playing sports like golf or basketball

  • Motor planning: for doing multi-step tasks like cooking a meal or assembling furniture

Struggles with motor skills can impact people at school, at work, and in daily life.
